The Scent of Sex….Yummy!

Hope you had a great weekend.  I sure did.  As you know my husband was away, playing in a three-day golf tournament, so I worked through the weekend.  That means I got tons of editing finished on Bewitched at the Beach.  Yes, I’m a very happy woman today!

Plus, I heard from the publisher/editor of my PNR novels on Saturday.  He’s currently reading through my novel Call of the Witches: Book Three of the Witchery Series before it goes into production and hits bookstores in September.  He is such a great guy and always knows how to make my day.  Here’s what he said…

“I’m about a 1/4 through Call of the Witches and it’s the beautiful, relaxing prose and dialog that I’ve come to expect. I like how you adapt to your readers interests while keeping the fundamental story and writing quality consistent.  Awesome work!”

Now for the scent of sex.  Yeah!  I’ve been thinking about perfume lately.  I’ve loved perfume since I was a little girl, and it all began with the sultry fragrance of gardenia.  One day, when I was twelve and wandering around the drugstore in our small mountain town, I sniffed a cheap bottle of gardenia cologne at the check-out counter, and that was it for me.  Wow.  I bought that bottle of cologne, and I’ve been hooked on perfume ever since.

Perfume is extremely sexy, so I’ve given all the heroines in my novels a signature scent.  For Ravena, it’s White Musk.  Mirabella wears the fruity body lotions her husband, Reese, buys for her.  Noelle wears patchouli oil, and that’s how she attracted Wynn the first day they met.  It seems Wynn has a weakness for women who wear patchouli oil.  Yup, Noelle led him to her bed that night, and five years later they’re still together and a verrrry sexually active couple (naughty grin).  Love them!  Maylene adores the gardenia in White Shoulders, which also happens to be Blaine’s fav flowering bush.

Then there’s Savannah.  I gave her my signature scent, Shalimar, a classic mix of vanilla and patchouli.  It drives Donnie wild, which led to the famous bathtub scene in What Witches Want: Book Two of the Witchery Series with a tube of Shalimar Shower Gel.

Yeah, perfume and sex.  Hmm.  I think I’ll dab a little Shalimar behind my ears and go find my boy-toy husband.  I made it through the weekend, but this is a brand new week, and I need to be serviced again (wicked smile).  Check you later…..!!

xoxo

Sounds like your boy-toy is about to be worn out again!!

I too love the scents…I have a couple favorites…Amber Romance by Victoria’s Secret (which I wore when I first met my hubby) and he loves the vanilla scents from Bath & Body Works too.

    Hi, Melissa (big wave!)–

Yeah, I’d say my boy-toy is about to be worn out again. I did let him rest all weekend. BUT he had to pry me off his lips this morning after our usual good-bye kiss before he walked out the door to go to work. Oh, well…what can I say?!!

Men do seem to have a thing for vanilla, don’t they? That’s one reason I wear a scent with vanilla in it. Not playing fair, I know, but I never have. No fun in that, right? Reminds of what Wynn says in “Bewitched at the Beach.” After he gives Noelle a scorching kiss, she says, “You don’t play fair, cat-man.” And he replies, “I never have, darlin’.” I won’t go into what he does next, but with a yummy guy like Wynn it’s not hard to imagine. Oh, yeah…love it! *lusty grin*

BTW, you will meet Wynn and Noelle in “What Witches Want.” Big fun!

I’m not usually one for strong perfumes. I like something subtle, so you almost don’t even notice it’s there, it’s just affecting all your senses…

    Yum.

I love white musk, that’s a good one. I like vanilla stuff from time to time, but all time favorite scent is this stuff from Charleston called Carolina Rain. To me, it SCREAMS southern summers, and it’s just a wonderful scent.

If you’re ever in the Market in downtown Charleston, go to Scents Unlimited. It’s this wonderful little store. Carolina Rain will be at the counter, and it’s worth every cent!

Did Melissa tell you that you needed to go see Mamma Mia? It’s a wonderful, sex crazed, girly power movie. I think you’d love it!

Awesome! Thanks for telling me about “Carolina Rain” and “Scents Unlimited.” I haven’t been to the market for a few years, but we are going to a wedding down there in September, so I will be sure to check that store out. Sounds great!
