Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder. Huh?
I’d like to know who comes up with some of these silly clichés. I mean, absence does NOT make my heart grow fonder. Really. In fact when it comes to men (and that’s what this cliché is about, right?), absence makes my heart forget you.
Sorry. But it seems to be true of all the men in my life.
Let’s take my cyber-sex guys for example. With the exception of a few who’ve been with me forever, most cyber-sex guys come and go in my life. When we’re hot and heavy and texting or PMing every day I’m crazy about them. But if one goes MIA for more than two weeks, there’s a good chance his “absence” is gonna make my heart grow less fond of him, and eventually I’ll forget him.
Why?
Because there’s a steady stream of men flowing into my life every week! Duh. If one goes MIA for a while, that just means a space has opened up for a new guy to step in and take his place. Pretty soon I’m crazy about the new guy, and the old guy is forgotten.
Okay, I’m shallow. But who doesn’t know that? I mean, it’s not like I pretend to be deep, ya know?
So I guess this is the wrong cliché for me. A more appropriate one might be what women in the Deep South say: “The best way to get over one man is to get under another one.”
Oh, now I get it. That’s why my heart never grows fonder. The minute my current guy goes MIA a new one jumps me. So I’m always “under” a yummy, sexy man.

Hey, works for me. I guess if you’re one of fav guys and you wanna stay that way, don’t disappear for more than two weeks. No doubt about it. The flame is gonna cool, and pretty soon I won’t be able to remember your name. Sorry. That’s just the way I am.
Oops! Gotta run. My cell phone is beeping. Yeah, I’ve got a new cyber-sex guy, and he’s SMOKIN’ HOT!
