I May Not be a Stripper, but I do Sparkle. Kinda.

Yeah, I’m one of those wacky vegetarians who likes to eat organic whenever I can. That’s because I try to avoid putting chemicals on the inside or the outside of my body. That also means I use a lot of organic/natural personal care products.

Last week I ran out of organic body lotion. I usually buy most of my lotions, soaps, etc., at The Vitamin Shoppe, but I was in CVS, picking up some toothpaste for the Uber, and thought I’d try something different. CVS carries Burt’s Bees products, so I bought its Radiance Body Lotion (with royal jelly). All natural, no chemicals. Sounds good to me. The blurb on the back of the tube boasted it also contains mica flecks "to enhance your skin’s natural glow." Huh?

I mean, I know what mica is. I grew up in the Appalachian Mountains, and they’re covered in that shiny, metallic rock. But it didn’t take long to experience that "glow" when I slathered on the lotion. Sparkles! Millions of them. Now it looks like I have glitter all over my body. Totally cool!

The Uber and I were out to dinner last night, and I waved my arm back and forth under the light in front of him. "Look," I said, "I’m sparkling!" The Uber snorts and replies, "Just like the girls at the strip clubs." What?

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this on my blog yet, but the Uber can’t stand strip clubs. They’re a big deal in the Deep South. Almost every town, no matter how small, has at least one if not more of them. You should hear the Uber moan when some of his customers drag him to a strip club. He likes to quote Paul Newman when it comes to why he feels strip clubs and strippers are a waste of his time. The Uber says, "Why would I settle for hamburger when I have steak at home?" Yeah, Paul Newman was obviously an Uber. What a hoot!

So now I’m a steak, even though I’m a vegetarian. Hmm. But I go with it, because the Uber loves this quote and thinks it’s the nicest thing he could ever say about me. And it is in his own Uber-ish way (grin). At any rate, the next time you see me, drag me under a light so you can see how I sparkle. Yeah, it’s totally cool. And I’m not even a stripper! ROFL

Awwww, that WAS nice of the Uber, even if he did equate you to a steak! lol! It’s the thought that counts! I’d give him high marks for that comment!:D

I know. I do give him high marks for the thought/comment. And he thinks it’s a brilliant quote, probably because it’s soooo Uber. But his heart is in the right place for sure.

And that’s an Uber for ya. You aren’t going to get the typical sweet comments. Like when I tell him I love him, and he responds by saying, “You must have rocks and muddy water in your head.” Ha! That’s his way of saying “I love you too.” So I just go with it. Like you said, he gets high marks for the thought. LOL

I love the steak comment. Oddly enough, it sounds like something Jason would say. He’s never been much for strip clubs either.

I tried a new class this week at the gym called Dance Tease…yeah, that’ll be interesting to incorporate some moves into play time

Dance Tease? Yowza! You know I would love that one! I’m thinking you could do a pole dance for Jason. I know. I must have strip clubs on my mind today. *naughty grin*

Oops! I keep forgetting to tell you. My new novel is in stock at Waldenbooks. I was there on Monday, and Yancy had two copies left with more on the way. Jason will love it. He’ll say “Porn Laura” wrote that one for sure! ROFL

Dance Tease was really fun and I laughed because I don’t think I looked sexy at all, but there were a few moves I know I could pull off and look sexy doing! I am not quite ready for pole dancing here, but I do happen to have a pole dance for whenever I do get ready (Naughty grin!!)
