My Anniversary & Ménage (not necessarily the same thing…grin)
Today is my anniversary. I have now been married 29 years to my yummy husband, the uber-Alpha, who has mellowed with age to an almost Gamma (thank the Goddess!). Carl made reservations for us tonight at a fancy steak house downtown (Ruth’s Chris). He has been to the one in Atlanta, GA, and Jacksonville, FL, but has yet to try the new one here in downtown Columbia. So what am I, a vegetarian, doing at a steak house? Hey, I can eat almost anywhere as long as the restaurant offers “sides,” since that’s all I eat anyway. Yeah, as Carl always says, I’m a cheap date (grin). Give me sides of rice and mixed veggies. I’ll cut up the veggies, mix them in the rice, and I’m a happy woman. I know. I’m easy to please, too (in more ways than one *naughty smile*).
I just finished Opal Carew’s latest erotica novel, Blush. Opal Carew is one of my fav erotica novelists, and Blush was good, but not as spectacular as Swing. However it would be hard to top Swing. That one just blew me away. Kinda like Seven Nights of Sin and Voyeur by Lacey Alexander. Awesome novels! One thing I do know after reading three of Carew’s erotica novels. The woman LOVES ménage. Just like Emma Holly (my all-time fav erotica novelist). Ménage is not my thing in real life, but I do enjoy reading about it. Fortunately, Carew is like Holly in that all her ménage novels have a HEA. Very important to me. Nothing makes me crankier than to invest my time emotionally in three people, and then have one left out in the cold and unhappy at the end of the novel. Not good.
I’m still working on Chapter 3 of Bewitched at the Beach. I’m to the scene where Wynn takes Noelle out for a night of dancing. Bet you didn’t know Wynn liked to dance? Neither did I until he told me. But it makes sense that a cat shapeshifter would enjoy dancing. With his feline moves can you imagine slow-dancing with Wynn? MEOW. Just makes you want to purr and rub all over him, doesn’t it? Yeah!
Carl finished reading the manuscript for Call of the Witches last night, and liked it. Whew! Like I said before, he’s a tough reader to please. Now it will be interesting to hear what my editor has to say about that novel when he finishes it.
Okay, time to get back to working on Bewitched at the Beach and slow-dancing with Wynn. Just the thought of writing that scene makes me a little frisky. Gee, I have such a tough life, don’t I? *wicked smile*
