The Quest for Sexy Panties
I have a confession to make. I used to be a terrible clothing shopper. Really. I couldn’t stand it. Because of that, all my clothes would wear out at the same time, and I’d have nothing to wear. An exciting situation for an exhibitionist, except for the fact you can still get arrested for nudity in public. Bummer. Thus, the need to wear clothes AND do a better job of shopping for them.
Here’s my problem. I used to buy everything at once. The major benefit of this strategy is you can go for a couple of years without having to shop for clothes again. Yay! Of course that also means all your clothes wear out at roughly the same time, and then you’re back to square one. That’s right….no clothes to wear.
So my shopaholic friend, Temple, stepped in about ten years ago and taught me how to shop. She said I should pick out a few stores I’m always at for other things, cruise the clothes every few weeks, and buy things I like on sale.
Eureka! It worked. Now I always have a closet full of nice clothes at great prices. And I’m never forced to buy clothes I don’t like at ridiculously high prices because I’m desperate.
Why I never applied this shopping principle to panties is beyond me. Especially since I use it to keep my closet well-stocked in sexy lingerie like babydolls and camisoles. Oh, well. At any rate it seems all my sexy panties are getting old and ending up in the trash these days. Thus, I’m running out of panties, and it’s time to buy more. Lots of them.
For 35 years I’ve worn silky, lace French-cut panties. Love how soft and sexy they look and feel. Guess what? No one makes them anymore. The only silky lace panties I can find now are Granny Pants. HORRORS!!!
So I’m entering the brave new world of techno fabrics. Goddess knows what they make these panties out of, but it’s nothing I’m familiar with. It’s silky, but it’s also stretchy and thick, and some even have those rubbery treads on the legs. Eew.
We all know I’m no fan of thongs. They come with most of the babydolls I buy, and I usually give them away to friends, because in that case I much prefer to go commando (easy access, ya know *lusty grin*). I’m also not a fan of cotton panties, because it’s hard to slip a pair of jeans off when you’re wearing them. And let’s face it. Cotton panties aren’t sexy. Cute, yeah, but cute isn’t my thing. Sexy is.
So Monday morning I hit the mall on a panty quest. I’d already been through the panties on sale at Dillard’s, and that’s when I’d run into all the weird stuff out there. Surely, I could find some silky, lace French-cut panties at another store, right?
Wrong. I went to Victoria’s Secret, Sears, Penney’s, and Belk. I ended up with three pairs of panties in that strange techno material. One is lacy, but after I washed it, it shrunk, so I tossed it in the giveaway bag. The other two are leopard print boy-shorts style panties (love how the legs in those feel). Yeah, they’re my favs so far. Can’t wait to show them to Wes! *naughty grin*
Today, I’ve got to go back to the mall to meet the new manager of Waldenbooks and take care of the final details for my booksigning on Saturday. I also plan to stop by Dillard’s and cruise their sale bins of panties again. After what I saw at the other stores, I’ve decided Dillard’s truly has the best lingerie in town at the best prices.
So I’m heading back into the brave new world of techno panties this morning. Hope I can find a few I like. Wish me luck. I’m gonna need it! LOL

But did you see those prices??? $16.00-25.00. Wow!
I just bought 5 different pairs at Dillard’s (really cute) for $16.00. All marked down 70%. I do love that store!
