My Naughty Holiday Card

This has been such a busy year.  Whew!

Let’s see.  In March, I finished the first draft of “A Vampire’s Kiss: Book One of the Manigault Vampires.”  But the next day I discovered the ebook publisher of my “The Rune Witch Series” had gone out of business.  Eek!  That series had been scheduled to come out in the spring.  But now it was out of print before it even went into print.

Eek!

This was just one more disaster in a year full of disasters.  Not only had I been censored several times in 2009 (and it was only March…Yeesh!), but I’d also had to fight to save the integrity of one of my novels from a crazy editor in January.

Fortunately, I’m no dummy.  Really, I’m not.  Trust me, I had no problem seeing the writing on the wall.  In bright red letters it said: GET AN AGENT…THIS SLUT NEEDS PROTECTION!!!

Eek!

Hey, it’s not like I haven’t had an agent before.  I have.  Wow, what a nightmare that was.  Whew!  Luckily I got rid of her with a minimum of damage.  Seriously.  I heard her next client took her to court, so I really lucked out.  Since then agents have contacted me every few years.  But I’d always turned them down, because the timing was never right.  Either I wasn’t in the market for an agent, or I didn’t feel the love from them like I should.  ;)

Anyway, because of all the disasters in the spring, I had to put the vamp novel aside to finish the first book in my memoir series (”Being Naughty & Loving Every Minute of It”), so I could interest an agent.  Two months later in May I found an awesome agent (Rick), who quickly found a new publisher for me.  But this publisher wanted an exclusive.  I can’t tell you how many times I heard: “Laura, I want ALL of you.”

Okay, darlin’, you got it.  *lusty grin*

That meant I spent the summer getting “The Rune Witch Series” and the memoir ready for the new publisher, while Rick bought out all the contracts from my other publishers.

He just finalized the deal with the last publisher two weeks ago (which is how I ended up with all those free poetry books…Yay!).  And, as you know, October and November have been hardworking months for me on the new website with my brilliant web designer, Alex.

Now the year is almost over, and the holidays are fast approaching.  Time to think about my Naughty Holiday Card.

Oh, joy and happiness!

That’s right.  Every year I create a special holiday card for my readers/fans/friends.  No need to warn you how x-rated and wicked it is, right?  *kinky grin*

This week I’ve been getting my snail mailing list shaped up to send out my 2009 card.  If you’d like to receive it and you aren’t on my list (meaning you didn’t get one from me last year), send me your snail mailing address, and I’ll mail one to you (I’ll probably mail them next week).  All you have to do is email your snail mailing address to laurastamps@mindspring.com and I’ll put you on the list.

In other news, Ron Graham wrote about me on his totally cool business blog Monday night.  Alrightyyyy!  The blog post is titled “Laura Stamps: Life Out Loud.”  He did an awesome job on it, and my fans and readers on Facebook and Twitter were buzzing about it all day yesterday.  Check it out at http://thenewstartmeup.wordpress.com/2009/11/17/laura-stamps-life-out-loud/

Okay, back to work on my holiday card mailing list….see ya!
