My Next Booksigning….Let’s Party!
Sounds like something Noelle from my Witchery Series novels would say, doesn’t it? Actually, 99.9% of my characters are complete and total fiction. But I did break that rule to put a lot of myself in the character of Noelle. What can I say? I couldn’t help it. *big smile*
Okay, I can’t believe my next booksigning is coming up this Saturday. When I set the date back in May it seemed soooooo far away. But now it’s here, so that means one thing: time to party! I’ve been doing booksignings for years, and it seems the kind of books you are signing sets the tone for the entire event. In my case I write and sign paranormal romance and erotica novels. That means the people who buy my books (and about half the people who buy my novels at booksignings are men…I kid you not.) are into romance, Witches, Pagans, cats, vampires, faeries, yummy guys, and hot sex. When that’s what’s on your mind, then the atmosphere can’t be anything but rowdy. If we aren’t talking about yummy guys and sex, we’re ogling good-looking men in the mall, thinking about yummy guys and sex. Just goes with the territory. So if you’re in Columbia, South Carolina, this Saturday (July 5th), come to Waldenbooks at Columbiana Mall (Harbison/Irmo) and join the party. There will be lots of laughing, giggling, ogling yummy guys, and rowdy girl talk. Big fun!
Thanks to all of you, who emailed and PMed and posted comments, congratulating me on my anniversary yesterday. It was a blast. It was the first time I’d ever been to a Ruth’s Chris steak house, and it was wonderful. What kind of vegetarian meal did I eat there? Sides of asparagus, potatoes, and broccoli. Yum, yum. Then the restaurant gave us dessert on the house in honor of our anniversary….a big piece of chocolate mousse cheesecake. I usually don’t do sugar, but on special occasions I’m happy to indulge in a few bites. It was a double-yum experience for sure (grin)!
What did I give Carl for our anniversary? Journey’s greatest hits (a CD for his car). We’re big classic rock fans (yes, I consider Journey classic rock because it’s good old stuff), and he has always been a Journey fan. Of course I won’t even get into Steve Perry’s voice. Let’s just say it does something to my libido that is unreal. The man’s voice is S.E.X….plain and simple. I thought it was just me, until I read Kathy Love’s vamp novel Any Way You like It. The hero is a vamp named Ren, who is the lead vocalist for a band in New Orleans. They sing a lot of Journey songs. One of the vamps from her “Young Brothers” series always brings his vamp wife to hear Ren sing because evidently his voice sounds a lot like Steve Perry. Listening to Ren sing Journey songs makes her so horny they usually have to leave the bar after an hour or so. Yup, Kathy Love got that right. Only it doesn’t take an hour for me. Just give me two or three songs, and I’m crawling the walls. Happy Anniversary! *naughty smile*

I’m sure a book tour that includes Texas is in my futute at some point. When it is you’ll be the first to know. Promise.
