Book Review – “Now Read This” on The Witches of Dixie
“THE WITCHES OF DIXIE has four short stories about four everyday, modern witches and how they practice their craft to overcome many things in life. There are positive messages in each story that surpass the boundaries of every religion. I am not Wiccan nor have I ever really been pulled in that direction, but the messages in this book are messages that can be used within most religions. Savannah creates designer handbags and her business has hit a bit of a slump. Maylene feels like the invisible woman. Mirabella, a successful artist, is searching for herself and a way out of the slump that her career has been plummeted into. Ravena and her husband seem to be completely out of touch with each other as he appears to be hitting a mid-life crisis and unavailable to her. Each of these women turn to their faith to help them be positive and to overcome the crises in their lives. Laura’s language is poetic and has an understated beauty to it. She describes things in such an artistic way that enables you to visualize her subject. I enjoyed the positive messages that this book contained. If you are a fan of the television series, Charmed, you might enjoy Laura’s novels. I met Laura at a booksigning a couple weeks ago. Lindsay and Laura are good friends. So I went to the signing specifically to meet her and grab her books so I could check them out. What I got from that signing was more than just the books, I gained a new friend. Laura is a really interesting and fun and witty woman. I have enjoyed chatting with her and reading her blogs and her books. I enjoy her positive, light attitude and cheerfulness!.”
