Let’s talk Paranormal Romance and Erotica Novels…Yeah!
I’ve created this journal to talk about my fav subject….erotica and paranormal romance novels! I plan to post daily, but we’ll see how that goes. This year is packed with book deadlines for my own series of novels, but if I keep these postings short I should be able to manage this, right?
Okay, what am I reading now? Demon’s Fire by Emma Holly. I read about 150-200 PNR and erotica novels every year, and in the last week I have read a few that were meh. When that happens I need to read a really good one, you know? Yeah, I’m really into satisfaction (naughty grin).
I have had my husband reading erotica novels lately so he’ll have an idea of what’s what in my market when he reads my manuscripts (in other words, he won’t be SHOCKED at what he finds in mine *big smile*). He just finished Demon’s Fire, which is one of my all-time fav erotica novels.
Now he is reading the manuscript of my latest PNR novel, Call of the Witches: Book Three of the Witchery Series. I turned it in to my publisher last week. Between my editor and my husband they usually catch any typos I missed, so that’s a very good thing.
Anyway, now that he is finished Demon’s Fire I knew it was just the novel to give me the fabulous reading experience I have been lacking this week. Emma Holly’s demon series is one of my favs. If you have never read Emma Holly’s erotica novels you are missing out on one of the greats in this genre. No kidding. She is awesome!

You read a lot of pnr a year! I haven’t been reading as many of them as I used to, I got swamped with books for book clubs and I have a real backlog of books to get through – including pnr! It gets to the point where I have so many books at home to choose from that I don’t know where to start – I wish I could read faster!

Shannon, I know what you mean! It’s one of the reasons why I never join book challenges or book clubs. I only have time to read at night after dinner. I keep my TBR list in a small notebook in my backpack purse, and it’s almost 2 inches thick now. I kid you not. Talk about a backlog! *big smile*

I read whenever I get the chance. At breakfast. Walking to the subway, on the subway, walking to work, at lunch, on the way home, after tea – and I still can only manage about three books a week, sometimes less if I get stuck on something like The Red and the Black. But I’m going to be an English teacher so it’s really good for me to be in book clubs that force me to read outside my comfort zone. Besides, I’ve found some real gems that way!
