(4.5 out of 5 stars) I review using the CASSL system (Characters, Author, Setting, Story, and overall Likability). It is usually easy to rate books based on this system and sometimes not. That is why it took a while to review THE WITCHES OF DIXIE. The characters did not seem like works of fiction (2-d). They seemed to come to life, and it was like taking a page from a diary and viewing it on TV. Very real emotions and images to bring a whole new level of understanding to plot and character development. Laura Stamps is a personal friend. Her characters are so diverse it is a testament to the talent of her imagination. I can hardly say I would have read THE WITCHES OF DIXIE if not for the personal touch given by the author. The characters and setting will live with you long after the last page is turned. I look forward to WHAT WICTHES WANT: BOOK TWO OF THE WITCHERY SERIES, and you should too!
